It seems that Cahill’s main source of inspiration comes from environmental issues. mainly how humans are destroying the environment with what we do. I really enjoy that she focuses mainly on one encapsulating topic. I find it really interesting how grand her work is. I feel like a lot of the time as artists, especially digital artists, we don't really think that much about the impact of size since most of our art is done on a computer, on a fixed size. however with her work I feel like it is so impactful because of the grand scale of it, especially with the XR pieces. For example, I really liked her Piece, Seek. I loved how it used elements of the real world and combined into something a little more sci-fi but still very connected to the natural world. It was because of the size of the piece that made it feel really grand and made the art piece feel a lot more real. She included a lot of debris flying at the camera which I can imagine wouldn't have felt so tangible, as if it were flying past the viewer’s own head, if it weren't so big.

I read a little bit of her articles and small excerpts of her books and it seems that she wants to bring awareness to how humans are destroying the environment, to inspire creativity, and bring awareness to power imbalances within our society. It seems that she started off as a traditional artist, then found a lot of meaning through the medium of digital art, specifically AR/XR. I do think that her digital art is a lot more impactful than her traditional art. I believe this because of the grand scale at which she is able to create her works as I have already mentioned, but also because of the realism and the movement that she incorporates her artworks with. I feel that even though a lot of her artistic pieces have more abstract concepts, it feels like they are things that could actually exist in this world that we live in. as I was reading through her article it also seemed that she wanted to inspire creativity by pushing the limits of what we know, and thus I think she does a very good job of putting this theme in her artwork.  hot chocolate It seems like she does this by taking something that we know and turning it into something that is not too far from being possible but still seems impossible, which all though is a contradictory statement I don't know how else to describe it.

Overall, I do really like Nancy Baker Cahill's artwork. It’s super cool how many different mediums she indulges in. I think that she's able to present her ideas in a way that isn't super “word for word this is what my art is about” way. Despite this, she is still able to create certain emotions within the viewer or at least me, that  relate to the different things that she wants to allude to.
