I think this project was fun to do as it really summed up a lot of the learning that we've done this whole semester.  I feel like before this class I always have a hard time coming up with ideas for projects. However, when I was brainstorming ideas for the web Adventure project, it was not very hard to just choose one of my ideas and run with it. I think that's just something I learned this semester, to not think too hard about what idea that I choose and to just put my all into it. For this project I decided to choose gambling/poker because my friends are always making a joke about how “99% of gamblers quit before they make it big”.

There were a few things that I wanted to do with this project: one, create a game where the player had to think outside of the box, two, make a game that was kind of frustrating but to have an easter egg solution that would be satisfying, and three, I wanted to have fun making this game. Temperament all three of these goals, I decided that no matter how  many times you tried to gamble, you would always lose. I added the quote “99% of gamblers quit before they make it big” to egg the user into continuing to choose the gambling route. Then to make the easter egg solution I created a hidden link that sent you into another path. I thought that this project would be pretty simple to implement, however while I was creating it I realized that it was a lot of work. Finding all of the images, creating all the gifts, creating specialized images that felt like a part of my game took a lot of time and I feel like when I was playing the game in front of the class I didn't feel like my work wasn’t being appreciated :(. I had wanted the main poker game pathway to be disappointing, and it seemed like people were genuinely disappointed, however, because people were disappointed, it didn't seem like they understood that that was the point of that pathway of my game. I spent a lot of time figuring out how to make the game frustrating, enjoyable, and running it through and through, and overall I feel like I put a lot of thought into my game and its creativity. Although I did end up missing a link which shows you how much time you can spend but still have mistakes in your project. Overall feel that I learned a lot from this project and it taught me many skills and lessons.
