Goal: Create a 12-16 page zine that tells a visual story.

Thoughts: My goal for this class is to have fun with creating art and to experiment with art making. I would love to create art that will create emotion within the viewer or to have human or non-human experiences. I’m kind of lost with what to make for this zine. Currently I’m in ARTS1020 and we had our zine project, my two themes were egg, and my goals for this semester and artistic inspo. I would like to do a different subject than both of them but something that I learned from doing them was that there’s no point in ruminating over what to make, just choose the subject and make it.

However, something I want to do is to create a multitextural/multimedia zine. I’m not really sure how I would execute it but I think I can choose any subject and create a multimedia zine with it. I think that I would also want to play with page shapes.

Ideas:

  • Egg: theme of many of my past artworks for classes.

  • Compilation of my favorite photos that I've taken, formatted as a mini magazine.

  • Delve into some strange collage world.

  • Two frame animations, like those little fun

  • I feel like I have artist block or some block that prevents me from starting art, make a zine about how I feel, that I feel lost.

  • Create a book with clothing patterns or silly blocks that people can cut out and turn into something (See picture)
